Domaine Vessigaud Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé

Domaine Vessigaud Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé

£26.44

Origin : Pouilly-Fuissé, Burgundy, France

Grape Varieties : 100% Chardonnay

Vintage : 2018

Tasting Note: This Pouilly-Fuissé is a clean golden yellow colour. The nose is a blend of rich citrus fruits, most noticeably lemon, but with underlying raisin, honey and lovely butterscotch. The palate is equally satisfying, with the powerful citrus fruits balanced well with richer touches of honey, tropical fruits and slight minerality. The acidity is pronounced and balances the fruit well, giving a long, refreshing finish.

Food Pairing : Perfect partner for seafood. It also goes nicely with white meat like veal or poultry. Try with goats cheese.

Alcohol : 13.5% abv

Winery : The Estate is working as organic since 1998. Pierre Vessigaud started the conversion officially in 2010. Winegrowers from father to son for five generations, the Vessigaud estate is a small family property located in the hamlet of Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation.

“My passion above all is working in the vines. I have been practicing ecological viticulture for several years, soil maintenance is done by plowing, and by using sulfur and copper only for treatments, to guarantee you wines without pesticide residues. For me, the love of the profession comes first and foremost through respect for the plant and the environment, a true common thread for an operator.
With beautiful grapes, the vinification (almost) does not need the winemaker! ” – Pierre Vessigaud.
