Origin : Brouilly, Beaujolais, France

Grape Varieties : 100% Gamay

Tasting Note: Firm & full bodied, more robust than your typical Beaujolais. An abundance of red berries, plum & peach fruits with tangy mineral notes. Soft, this wine shows that not all Beaujolais’s are light – this one is a robust, earthy, even forceful style of Beaujolais, showing Gamay grapes at their best. Notable earthy substance balanced by ample, vibrant juicy fruits – plenty of soft blackberry fruit, balanced by a good tannic structure. From the Brouilly cru of Beaujolais, where typically more robust Beaujolais’ are from.

Alcohol : 13% abv

Winery : It is the wine of Parisian brasseries. The vines of the area called Baron are located close to the famous “pisse-Vieille” climate, considered to be one of the best terroirs of Beaujolais.

The uniqueness of the Brouilly appellation is that none of the appellation communes bears his name. The most extensive and southernmost of Beaujolais wines derives its name from Mount Brouilly where Brulius, lieutenant of the Roman army, sat.

The Domaine “Dit Barron” has which received this name the day when the first winegrower’s son replaced the son of a baron at war. At the head of the estate since 1984, his current heir has kept all the Beaujolais traditions in this Brouilly.
